• Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County

  • Working with Pat and the staff at Pickett & Associates has been a wonderful experience and a tremendous benefit to Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County. Our relationship began almost two years ago and has been nothing short of awesome! MOWHC tried to handle our marketing/PR needs in house and just didn't have the time or expertise needed to make it successful. Working with Pickett & Associates has allowed MOWHC to have consistent, on point messaging through various forms of media assisting us in reaching those who need our services. The messaging is fresh, cutting edge and has given us the opportunity to have a real presence in the community that we were lacking on our own! The Firm has been very responsive to our requests and needs, does a fantastic job promoting our fundraising and special event activities, and can always be counted on to be up to date with the latest issues and trends that impact those we serve on a daily basis. I enthusiastically recommend Pickett & Associates to anyone who is looking for a solid, professional firm that is cutting edge, able to deliver, and fun to work with.

  • the challenge

Meals on Wheels is a recognized brand on its own, often associated with an underserved population. But how do you address and promote that sort of need in one of the most affluent counties in the Midwest?

  • the solution

Pickett&Associates created a strategic communicataions plan that focused on identifying the target audiences -- potential clients, volunteers and donors -- and worked to engage them with informational, educational and even entertaining content that provides an accurate brand picture.

  • the results

Educating the community regarding the diversity of services Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County offers -- including assisting those recuperating at home after surgery -- was just one tactic that led to an increase in people served (2016 over 2015). Implementing a strategic social media plan that grew Facebook followers by 20 percent has widenend the net for all audiences.

  • Promoting Events and Getting Results

Events -- like Meals on Wheels of Hamilton County's "Dancing wiht Our Stars" and the annual "March for Meals "-- provide a unique opportunity for a not-for-profit organization to receive media coverage, increasing awareness as well as growing the number of participants. Keeping the Central Indiana media informed of such events and pitching unique story ideas is our specialty!

  • Enhancing the Message with Infographics

When an image is paired with a fact, people retain it for 65% longer three days later than facts without images. That's why Pickett&Associates takes infographic seriously. And we don't use Canva or clip art. Our in-house illustrator creates one of a kind pieces that grab attention and get results.
